Let’s get started!
– 4 oz Smoked Gouda cheese, shredded – 1 Package shell pasta – ¼ tsp Ground white pepper – 2 ½ tbsp Butter – ½ tsp Salt – 2 tbsp All-purpose flour – 2 ½ cup Milk
1. Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a casserole dish. 2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. 3. Add the shell pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is tender but still firm to the bite, about 9 minutes.
4. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. 5. Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring, until the mixture forms a paste and turns light golden brown, about 2 to 4 minutes. 6. Gradually whisk in the milk, salt, and pepper.
7. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, cooking and whisking constantly until the sauce is smooth and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 5 to 10 minutes. 8. Drain the pasta and place it in a large bowl. Pour the cheese sauce over the pasta and mix until well combined.
9. Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish. 10. Bake in the preheated oven until heated through, about 15 minutes.
