The Freshman Cook: Red, White and Blue Popcorn Balls /#15 Minute Friday

Spread the love

It is time for #15 Minute Friday and today I have some simple, tasty Red, White, and Blue Popcorn Balls that will fit in to any 4th of July celebration!
Red, White and Blue Popcorn Balls
(printable recipe at end of page)  (makes 4 large popcorn balls)
Cooking Spray
3 cups Marshmallow
1/4 tablespoon Butter
8 cups popped Popcorn
Patriotic Sprinkles
Red and Blue Icing Spray cooking spray in pan bottom and up the sides. Melt the marshmallows and butter.
Place popped popcorn in to a large bowl. Pour melted marshmallow mix into bowl. Mix together. Use a large spoon or spatula. You can also wear plastic gloves, and mix everything together with your hands.
Sprinkle mix with decorative sprinkles.
Roll mix into 4-5 balls. The last one ended up very small compared to the other four. But I wanted them a certain size to fit into the holiday cups. Otherwise you can make 5 smaller ones. Set the balls onto the cupcake pan to set up. I turned them over after about 20 minutes, so the other side can get a little dry.
Serve them in small cups or wrap them in plastic or wax paper. Decorate the top with red and blue icing  and more sprinkles!

Have a Happy 4th of July!!!
