– 2 cups milk whole milk or any milk of your choice – 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder – 1/4 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste – 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract – Pinch of salt – Whipped cream
1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it is warm but not boiling. 2. While the milk is heating, in a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt until well combined. 3. Once the milk is warm, gradually whisk in the cocoa powder mixture.
– Continue to heat the hot chocolate, stirring occasionally, until it is hot and steaming, but not boiling. – Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. – Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream and serve and enjoy!
