– 3-4 slices of bacon – 2 slices of bread – 2-3 slices of ripe tomatoes – 2-3 lettuce leaves – 1-2 tablespoons of mayonnaise or aioli – Salt and pepper to taste
1. In a skillet or frying pan over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until they reach your desired level of crispiness, usually about 3-4 minutes per side. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. 2. While the bacon is cooking, toast the bread slices in a toaster or toaster oven until they are golden brown and crisp.
3. Wash and slice the tomatoes thinly. Wash and pat dry the lettuce leaves. 4. Spread mayonnaise or aioli on one side of each toasted bread slice. Layer the cooked bacon, tomato slices, and lettuce leaves on one slice of bread. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with the other slice of bread, mayo side down, to form a sandwich.
5. Slice the sandwich in half diagonally or leave it whole and serve immediately. Enjoy your classic BLT sandwich!
