– 8 ounces Fresh mozzarella cheese thinly sliced – 1 loaf Baguette sliced into 1/2 inch thick rounds – 2 medium-sized Fresh tomatoes thinly sliced – 1 bunch Fresh basil leaves – Balsamic glaze for drizzling – Olive oil for brushing the baguette slices – Salt and pepper to taste
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer. 3. Brush each slice of baguette lightly with olive oil.
4. Bake the baguette slices in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning. 5. Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
6. Top each toasted baguette slice with a slice of fresh mozzarella cheese, followed by a slice of tomato. 7. Season each crostini with a pinch of salt and pepper, to taste. 8. Garnish each crostini with a fresh basil leaf.
9. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the assembled crostini. 10. Arrange the Caprese Crostini on a serving platter or plate and serve immediately.
