– 1 tbsp Butter – 1 tbsp Olive oil – 1/4 cup finely Chopped onion – 4 cloves Garlic minced – 1 cup Jasmine rice rinsed – 1 and 1/2 cups Low-sodium chicken broth – 1 dried Bay leaf – Salt and pepper to taste – 1 and 1/2 tsp Turmeric
–1. Wash the rice until the water runs clear, then drain it. 2. In a pot on medium heat, melt the butter and add the olive oil. 3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until they’re soft.
4. Stir in the rice and turmeric until they’re mixed well. 5. Pour in the chicken broth and add the bay leaf. Cover the pot and bring it to a boil.
6. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed. 7. Take it off the heat, let it sit for 5 minutes, then remove the bay leaf. Fluff it up with a fork, and it’s ready to serve!
