Ingredients
  

Filling

  • ¾ cup  light brown sugar
  • 10 large apples
  • 3 tsp cinnamon

Topping

  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter,
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • ¼ cup flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Peel and slice the apples into 1/8-inch thick pieces.

  • In a large bowl, toss half of the apple slices with 6 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon until evenly coated.

  • Transfer to a 3-quart baking dish.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining apples, cinnamon, and sugar.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the topping ingredients using a pastry blender or two forks, mixing until small chunks form.

  • Spread the oat topping over the apples, making sure to cover them completely.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, then allow to cool slightly before serving.
