Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt plus more to taste
  • 2 avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 tbsp limes juiced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, optional

  • Place all the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until the mixture is smooth, pausing to scrape down the sides as necessary.

Notes

  • If the crema turns out too thick, they can mix in 1 tablespoon of water at a time until it achieves the desired consistency.
  •  
    For storage, the leftover crema will keep for up to 5 days in the refrigerator. It should be kept in a sealed jar, container, or squeeze bottle. When preparing the crema well in advance, it’s best to store it in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly against the surface to prevent the avocado from browning.
  • If it’s too thin, they should blend in another half of an avocado or add a tablespoon of sour cream at a time until reaching the right thickness.
