- ½ cup Butter
- 2 medium Yellow onions
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 lbs Ground beef
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 2 tsp Dill
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 8 oz Blue cheese crumbles
- ½ lb Bacon cut in half
- 6 pieces Green leaf lettuce
- ½ cup Blue cheese dressing
- 6 Potato burger buns
Caramelize the Onions: In a large frying pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the onions and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to coat the onions in the butter. Lower the heat to medium-low and let the onions simmer until they're soft and caramelized. Stir occasionally while you prepare the rest of the burger.
Prepare the Patties: In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, dill, paprika, and blue cheese crumbles until well combined. Shape the mixture into 12 balls, each about 1½ inches in size.
Cook the Bacon: In a separate large skillet, cook the bacon halves until crispy. Transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
Cook the Patties: Use the same skillet (with the bacon grease still in it) to cook the patties. Place each ball in the pan and use a flat spatula to press them down into about ¼-inch thick patties. Cook them in batches until they’re well done, then remove them from the pan.
Assemble the Burgers: Start with the bottom half of each potato bun. Place a leaf of lettuce on each bun, then add two patties. Top with 2-3 bacon halves and a spoonful of caramelized onions. Drizzle with blue cheese dressing and finish with the top bun.
-
For Extra Juicy Patties: To keep your burger patties juicy, don’t overmix the ground beef. Mix just until the ingredients are combined, then form the patties gently.
-
Prevent Bun Sogginess: Lightly toast the potato buns before assembling your burgers. This helps them hold up better against the juicy toppings and sauces.
