Basil Simple Syrup is a breeze to make and brings a burst of summer freshness to drinks, ice cream, cakes, and more. This recipe is one of my favorites, and I just had to share it again.

- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Basil leaves washed
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
Let the sugar dissolve and boil for one minute.
Remove from heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.
Strain out the solids and enjoy!
