- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together one egg white, one tablespoon of water, and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract until frothy.
Add two cups of pecan halves to the bowl and toss them until evenly coated with the egg white mixture.
In a separate bowl, mix together half a cup of granulated sugar, one teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and a quarter teaspoon of salt until well combined.
Pour the sugar mixture over the coated pecans and toss until they are thoroughly coated.
Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the pecans are golden and the sugar mixture is caramelized.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the candied pecans cool completely on the baking sheet.
Once cooled, break apart any clusters and transfer the candied pecans to an airtight container for storage or serve them immediately.
- Monitor Closely: Keep a close eye on the pecans while baking to prevent burning.
- Cool Completely: Allow the pecans to cool entirely on the baking sheet before transferring them.
