Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup diced tomato
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • Optional: diced jalapeƱo or serrano pepper for added heat

Instructions
 

  • Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  • Mash the avocado with a fork or potato masher until smooth or your desired consistency.
  • Add the lime juice to the mashed avocado and stir to combine. This helps prevent the avocado from browning and adds a fresh citrus flavor.
  • Add the diced red onion, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the mashed avocado.
  • Gently fold all the ingredients together until well combined.
  • Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt, pepper, or lime juice if desired.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or use it as a topping for tacos, burritos, salads, or sandwiches.
