Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • 12-inch Non-Stick Skillet

Ingredients

  • 3 Big eggs
  • ¾ cup Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 packet Hawaiian Rolls 12 rolls

Instructions

  • In a big bowl, mix together the eggs, heavy whipping cream, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  • Melt the butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Poke some holes in the bottom of each roll with a fork. Dip the rolls quickly into the egg mixture, making sure they're coated all over.
  • Place the rolls in the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until they're golden brown.

Notes

  • You don't need to slice the rolls, just pull them apart.
  • I use whole milk, but you can use low-fat milk, half-and-half, or heavy whipping cream.
  • Don't let the rolls soak in the egg mixture for too long, or they'll get soggy. Just a quick dip on all sides is enough before cooking.
  • I like to poke a few holes in each roll with a fork before dipping them in the egg mixture.
  • Feel free to mix up the spices in the egg mixture. Pumpkin spice, nutmeg, allspice, or cardamom are all tasty options. You can also add a pinch of salt for extra flavor.
  • If you're making a lot of French toast, you can keep the cooked rolls warm in the oven.
