Ingredients
  

  • 1 15 oz can green jackfruit in brine
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp crushed black pepper
  • 1/3 cup + 3 tbsp flour divided
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened plant milk
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • About 1/2 cup canola oil for frying
  • Optional: 1/4 cup barbecue or buffalo sauce

Instructions
 

  • Prep Jackfruit: Drain, rinse, and cut jackfruit into wing-sized pieces. Toss with cayenne, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Bake or Air Fry: Bake at 400°F for 10-12 minutes (flipping halfway) or air fry for 5 minutes.
  • Prepare Batter: Mix 1/3 cup flour, plant milk, baking soda, and salt. Coat jackfruit in batter, then roll in remaining flour.
  • Fry: Heat oil in a pan, fry jackfruit pieces for 30 seconds on each side, and drain on paper towels.
  • Optional: Toss with BBQ or buffalo sauce and serve with dips.
