Ingredients
  

  • tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup dried lentils, rinsed and picked ove
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Place dried lentils in a small saucepan and add enough water to submerge them completely.
  • Bring to a boil, then lower the heat, cover the saucepan, and let the lentils simmer until they are very soft and thoroughly cooked.
  • Stir occasionally, adding more water if necessary.
  • Once the lentils are done, take the saucepan off the heat.
  • Use a potato masher or fork to mash the lentils.
  • Mix in olive oil, salt, freshly ground black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  • Cover the pan and let it sit for about five minutes before serving.
