Plastic Wrap
- 1 Long cucumber
- 1/2 Avocado
- 6 slices Raw salmon
Prep Your Ingredients: Start by gathering everything you need—your cucumber, avocado, and raw salmon.
Slice the Cucumber: Use a vegetable peeler to carefully slice the outer layers of the cucumber into long, thin strips.
Layer the Cucumber: Lay out your sushi bamboo mat and cover it with plastic wrap. Then, layer the cucumber slices on the mat, making sure they overlap slightly to avoid any gaps. Trim the ends to create an even rectangle.
Add the Fillings: Place the avocado and salmon slices on one end of the cucumber layer, arranging them horizontally.
Roll the Sushi: Starting at the end with the fillings, carefully roll the cucumber and fillings into a tight log using the bamboo mat. Wrap the roll in plastic wrap and twist the ends to secure it.
Chill the Roll: Place the wrapped roll in the fridge for about an hour or pop it in the freezer for a few minutes. This helps the cucumber hold its shape, making it easier to slice.
Slice and Serve: Remove the roll from the fridge or freezer, unwrap it, and gently cut it into six even pieces. Your Naruto Rolls are now ready to enjoy!
- Slicing Tip: Avoid using the middle of the cucumber, as it’s too watery and difficult to roll. Stick to the outer layers for best results.
- Layering Tip: Make sure the cucumber slices overlap enough to prevent gaps in your roll.
