The Freshman Cook: Quick and Easy 4th of July Trail Mix

We are excited about the 4th of July next week here at The Freshman Cook!  It has always been one of my favorite summer holidays. I love the cooking out, the swimming, the time spent with family and friends, and of course the fireworks!

Every year I like to change up some of the food and snacks we serve, and this year I added a quick and easy 4th of July Trail Mix as a little bowl of something to munch on as we watch the fireworks over the city!

This trail mix is actually a copy of my favorite trail mix I used to buy at the store, but it has been discontinued. So I tried my best to duplicate it. It was easy to get the ingredients, and I calculated the ingredient amount a few times and then decided on what you see here.

I hope you enjoy this quick and easy recipe.  I also included some plastic cups with lids for those of you who would prefer your trail mix in containers, instead of picking the mix from a community bowl. Package the containers before anyone arrives, to make things simple and easy! Enjoy, and Happy 4th!

Quick and Easy 4th of July Trail Mix

(makes enough for 8-10)
(printable recipe at end of page)

2 cups of Peanuts

1 cup Red, White and Blue M & M’s

1 cup Seedless Raisins

1 cup Milk Chocolate & Peanut Butter Morsels

Mix ingredients together in a bowl.

Unless you are serving immediately, keep the mix fresh by placing it in a ziplock bag until you are ready to use it. Everyone will love these flavors together! The plastic cups I used for the guests that would like them will hold 2 ounces of mix, and they each have their own lid. I purchased them at the dollar store.

Thanks for joining me today!
