Can I Make This Dish Vegetarian?

Can I Make This Dish Vegetarian?

Definitely! You can skip the beef altogether and simply stir-fry the broccoli with your favorite vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or snap peas. For added protein, you can also toss in some tofu or tempeh.

Is Shaoxing Wine Necessary, and Can I Substitute it With Something Else?

Shaoxing wine adds a unique flavor to the dish, but if you don’t have it on hand, you can substitute it with dry sherry or rice vinegar mixed with a pinch of sugar. If you prefer to omit alcohol entirely, you can use chicken or vegetable broth instead, although the flavor may be slightly different.

Can I Use a Different Type of Meat Instead of Flank Steak?

Absolutely! While flank steak is traditional, you can substitute it with other cuts like sirloin or even chicken breast if you prefer. Just make sure to slice the meat thinly for quick cooking and tender results.
