Caprioska Recipe: Simple and Refreshing!

Please Rate this Recipe

The Caprioska is a refreshing Brazilian cocktail made with vodka, lime, white sugar, and crushed ice. It’s similar to a vodka soda with lime but offers a more intense flavour. To prepare, muddle lime pieces in a cup to release the juice and oils, then mix in sugar.

Add vodka and fill the glass 3/4 full with crushed ice, stirring until the ice begins to melt into the mixture. Top with more crushed ice to form an ice dome, garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately with a straw.

If you have any leftover cocktail, store it in a sealed container in the fridge for up to a day, but it’s best enjoyed fresh. Serve in a chilled glass with extra crushed ice for the best experience. Enjoy responsibly!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 large Lime cut into fourths
  • 1 tbsp White sugar
  • 1.5 oz Vodka
  • Crushed ice

Instructions

  • Place the lime pieces in a cup and muddle them until the juice covers the bottom of the cup and the oils and aroma from the peel are released.
  • Add the sugar and stir well.
  • Pour in the vodka and fill the glass about 3/4 full with crushed ice. Stir for about 20 seconds, or until the ice starts to melt into the mixture.
  • Top off with more crushed ice, creating a little ice dome on top of the glass.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and a straw, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t worry if all the sugar doesn’t dissolve. One of the best parts of this drink is slurping up the little sugary bits through the straw—it’s like drinking a county fair lemonade!

Can I Use a Different Type of Sugar?

Can I Use a Different Type of Sugar?

Yes, you can use brown sugar or simple syrup if you prefer. Brown sugar will add a slightly different flavor, while simple syrup will dissolve more easily. Just remember, it might change the taste a bit!

What Can I Use If I Don’t Have a Muddler?

No muddler? No problem! You can use the back of a spoon or a wooden spoon handle to press and mash the lime pieces. The goal is to release the lime juice and oils, so anything squishing the lime will work.

Can I Make a Non-Alcoholic Version of the Caprioska?

Absolutely! Just replace the vodka with soda water or tonic water for a refreshing mocktail. You’ll still get the tasty lime and sugar flavour without the alcohol. Enjoy!
