Our Homemade Pizza Rolls start with crescent dough, making them super simple and completely irresistible! They’re loaded with melty mozzarella and plenty of pepperoni.
These rolls are perfect for lunch or a snack, and they’re great for serving to hungry football fans. They’re cheesy to the max, filled with spicy pepperoni, all wrapped up in buttery crescent roll dough.
Dip them in pizza sauce for that full pizza vibe. Serve them alongside our grape jelly lil smokies, cheesy ranch ritz bits, crack chicken sliders, and pimento cheese sausage balls for an amazing game-day spread.
You can call them pizza rolls or pepperoni rolls since we’re serving them with dipping sauce instead of stuffing the sauce inside like store-bought pizza rolls. Either way, they’re delicious and kids love them! They’re a bit time-consuming to stuff each roll, but it’s so worth it. Plus, it’s fun to make something at home that you’d usually buy from the store.
These homemade pizza rolls are just as good as the store-bought ones, and kids LOVE them! It might take some time to stuff each roll, but it’s worth it and fun to make something from scratch that you’d normally buy. WIN!
Homemade Pizza Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
- 5 Egg roll wrappers
- 1/3 cup chopped Mini pepperoni or regular-sized, minis are thicker
- 1/4 cup Pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Heat Oil: Preheat 1"-2" of oil in a pan to 350°F or in a deep fryer.
- Prepare Wrappers: Cut each egg roll wrapper into 4 squares.
- Chop Cheese: Chop the mozzarella cheese into smaller pieces.
- Mix Filling: In a bowl, mix together the pepperoni, pizza sauce, and cheese.
- Fill Wrappers: Place heaping teaspoonfuls of filling onto the left side/center of each egg roll wrapper, leaving 1/2" above and below the filling.
- Seal Edges: Using your finger, wet all the edges of the wrapper with water. Gently roll the pizza roll up and press above and below the filling to seal the edges. Wet the top and bottom again and gently fold each up to create a small seal.
- Fry Rolls: Place about 4 rolls into the heated oil at a time, frying for about 1-2 minutes until puffy and golden.
- Drain: Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve: Serve with additional pizza sauce for dipping, if desired.
Notes
- Seal Tightly: Ensure you seal the edges of the wrappers well to prevent them from bursting open while frying.
- Monitor Oil Temperature: Keep the oil at 350°F for perfect, golden, and crispy pizza rolls without burning them.
- Pre-Make and Freeze: Prepare and freeze the rolls before frying. When ready to eat, fry them straight from the freezer for a quick snack.

What Fillings Can I Use Besides Pepperoni And Cheese?
You can customize your pizza rolls with a variety of fillings. Other popular options include cooked sausage, diced ham, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, or spinach. Just make sure any vegetables are cooked and drained of excess moisture to prevent the rolls from becoming soggy.
How Do I Keep The Pizza Rolls From Unraveling While Baking?
