Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment Paper
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 4 regular pita breads khubz
  • ¼ cup good olive oil 60ml
  • ½ tsp salt I used Maldon here
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp za’atar
  • ¼ tsp ground cumin

Instructions

  • Set oven temperature to 400°F/200°C. Use silicone mats, parchment paper, foil, or oiled paper to line a baking sheet.
  • Each pita bread should yield eight triangles. Spread out the pita chips so they don’t overlap and line the baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the sea salt, paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder. Chips should be brushed or sprayed with oil before being sprinkled with half of the seasonings.
    How to Make Pita Chips
  • Turn the chips over, give them another coat of oil (brush or spray), and then add the remaining seasonings.
  • Bake for eight minutes, or until crisp and golden. Take out and let cool entirely.
  • Have fun! Pita chips retain crunchy for up to a week when kept in an airtight Tupperware container.

Notes

  • Exactly how long to bake your pita breads will depend on their thickness.

What’s the Best Way to Store My Pita Chips?

The best way to store pita chips is in an airtight container at room temperature. Make sure the container is tightly sealed to prevent air from getting in and making the chips stale. Stored this way, pita chips can last for up to 1-2 weeks. Avoid storing them in the refrigerator, as the moisture can make them soggy.
