Instant Pot Baked Potatoes Recipe
Equipment
- 1 Instant pot
- 1 Trivet
- 1 Aluminum foil
Ingredients
- 4-5 medium-sized russet potatoes
- 1 cup water
- sea salt
- olive oil spray
Instructions
- Verify that the Instant Pot’s stainless steel insert is inside. Pour in one cup of cold water.
- Scrub and wash the potatoes. Each potato should have many fork pokes made across its surface.
- Incorporate the wire rack inside the insert. Place the potatoes in a rack.
- After placing the Instant Pot lid on, select the “sealing” position on the valve.
- Ensure that HIGH pressure cooking is selected on your IP. To set the timer for 14 minutes, press the “manual” button. Refer to the cooking time notes.
- The Instant Pot will begin to build pressure and beep. The timer will start in a few seconds when the valve opens, indicating that pressure was reached.
- The Instant Pot will beep a few times when it’s finished. Allow it to relieve the pressure on its own.
- Open the lid carefully, keeping your face out of it. After removing the potatoes gently, arrange them on a dish.
- Garnish potatoes with butter, seasonings, cheddar, sour cream, parsley, or chives, according to your preference.
Notes
- Place roasted potatoes on a baking sheet (foil if desired, but not parchment since parchment paper cannot be broiler-safe).
- Coat potatoes in olive oil and Kosher salt.
- Place under oven broiler for 3-7 minutes until skins are brown and crisp. Be careful not to burn the potatoes.

Do Baked Potatoes Cook Faster in Foil?
Baking potatoes with foil does not speed up the process. On the other hand, cooking times significantly increase because the foil itself needs to heat up before the potato bakes. When you bake baked potatoes without their packaging, you not only obtain superior results but also save money.
