I’m very confused. Why do the cookies in the beginning picture not look the same as on the recipe picture? Also, the recipe doesn’t give any ingredients/instructions for filling the cookies. What am I missing!?

    • Hi Dewena!

Thanks so much for your comment! I can see where the confusion might come from. The cookies in the beginning picture and the ones in the recipe picture do look a bit different because we made different batches, trying out different ways of incorporating caramel. Both styles work great with this recipe—one version keeps the caramel as a hidden center filling, while the other uses it as a drizzle or topping after baking.

If you’d like a different look, you can also melt a bit of extra caramel and drizzle it on top after baking for that golden, glossy finish.

I hope that clears things up, and let me know if you have any other questions! Happy baking!
